What training will be offered to our undergraduate brothers?
True Brother Recruitment Institute
All attendees will experience training in Lambda Chi Alpha's True Brother Recruitment Institute. The recruitment training will focus on the need for values based recruitment, PR and its relationship to recruitment, branding and the direct impacts of aligning, knowing your rushees, making change at your Zeta, and the crucial steps of action planning. Whether your Zeta consists of 30 brothers or 130 brothers, the True Brother Recruitment Institute is designed to help you find success in recruitment.
New Associate Member Program
In getting back to the basic values of our ritualistic founders, Lambda Chi Alpha now prescribes a comprehensive curriculum of educational components for Associate Members based on the Seven Core Values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Service and Stewardship, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. Lambda Chi Alpha has prescribed an eight-week time period for Associate Members leading up to initiation, and now we have the curriculum for chapters to spend the eight weeks focusing on demanding, but not demeaning, development of our associates. By instilling the Seven Core Values into the Associate Member program, chapters will foster continual growth in our new members to ensure they truly are ready to experience Pre-Initiation and the Initiation Ritual.
Pre-Initiation Events and Activities
Rights of passage have always existed within Lambda Chi Alpha. Brothers attending these workshops will be exposed to the authorized Pre-Initiation activities chapters may conduct prior to the exemplification of the Initiation Ritual. Brothers will be educated on the purpose and intent of these experiences and the clearly defined appropriate manner to conduct them.
Lambda Chi Alpha's New Leadership Experience
As the General Fraternity embraces the aspiration of growth, a new and refined leadership curriculum is being offered. Following in the tradition of L.E.A.P. and Impact Leadership, participants will be exposed to a new method of developing the leadership characteristics found within every brother in the bond. Emphasizing a delivery mechanism based on peer to peer education and mentorship by alumni brothers, this new leadership development curriculum promises to enhance the individual member as well as the overall health of the chapter.
New and Interactive Website
After much discussion, energy, and effort, the General Fraternity will roll out components of Lambda Chi Alpha's new website this summer at the Stead Leadership Seminar 2007. Brothers attending the event will experience training in components specific to the new True Brother initiative, as well as other aspects affecting chapter operations and reporting information to the General Fraternity.
Additional Programming
Brothers will also experience training in working to create stronger synergy between our High Pis and High Alphas / chapter leaders, as well as new and dynamic approaches to harm reduction in Lambda Chi Alpha.
Brotherhood Outing
As a guest of the Grand High Zeta, brothers and associates will collectively represent Lambda Chi Alpha at a Memphis Redbirds (the St. Louis Cardinals' Triple-A club) baseball game. While at the ballpark, we will enjoy catered local cuisine, in downtown Memphis, and all brothers are encouraged to wear letters for the event.
What alumni training will be offered?
Neville Alumni Advisers College
For our brothers serving as chapter High Pi, a housing corporation officer, on an Alumni Control Board, or on an Alumni Advisory Board, the Neville Alumni Advisers College is essential training. The Advisers College curriculum is motivating and fast paced, focusing on the ever changing role of strong, supportive, and positive alumni brothers mentoring and modeling the way for our undergraduates. Two levels of Advisers College training will be offered. Level one is for newly appointed High Pis and alumni that have not previously attended Advisers College training. Level two is for those alumni who have already graduated from the first level of training and have had significant tenure in their role as chancellor. Advisers should register by May 1, 2007, to take advantage of comprehensive scholarships made available through the generous financial support of brother Neville.
