What is the Joseph T. Charles Mentor Leadership Program?
The Mentor Leadership Program represents another way for us to fulfill the membership for life philosophy of our brotherhood. As an Associate Member, we are provided with a Big Brother who serves as a role model and teacher, in support of our transition into the fraternity and college life. We then return the favor by serving as a Big Brother, providing guidance and leadership for new members in our chapter. Lifelong bonds are often created through these special relationships. The Joseph T. Charles Mentor Leadership Program is based on these same principles, and ideally, you will be able to create similar bonds with other undergraduate and alumni members. Once a mentee becomes a successful alumnus, and steps up to mentor an undergraduate member by providing support for the transition from college like to the “real world”, the continuum is complete. By emphasizing this continuum in new member recruitment, Lambda Chi Alpha will position itself competitively as the most attractive organization for the best and brightest college undergraduate leaders. Lambda Chi Alpha unveiled the Joseph T. Charles Mentor Leadership Program in October 2001. This program is funded by the Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation, which is made possible through a generous gift from Joseph T. Charles (Culver-Stockton 1960). |
