ASU undergrad virally charts on Spotify with single release

Kyan Palmer, an undergrad of the Zeta-Psi Zeta at Arizona State University, has recently released a single titled “Burn Mona Lisa” as part of his thesis project.

Currently the track is sitting at #31 on Spotify’s “United States Viral 50” chart, sitting ahead releases from former One Direction member Zayn Malik and Ariana Grande.

Crediting the Greek Life at ASU for their immense support, specifically Lambda Chi Alpha and Kappa Alpha Theta, Palmer says the he had never written any songs before but after a few days of trying, “Burn Mona Lisa” became a realization in about 45 minutes.

Palmer says “the song is reflective about experiences I’ve had in my life. it took a lot of reflection to write that song”. He also credits the producer Judge, who “helped me bring my ideas for the track to life. He’s an amazing talent.”

Palmer is currently writing and recording songs, and interning around various record labels in New York. He is taking his music career seriously and realizes nothing happens overnight;

“At this point I’m just taking it day by day. I’m going to put a lot of work in and I have the drive to be successful in this industry. There is a great deal of unknown at this point, but I am optimistic about the future.”

Palmer is the perfect example of showing that it is never too late to pursue a passion. Going after something you love should be your first priority, even when it means going against people’s expectations of you. (Via DimiHub)
