GraduationHow, if at all, has your Lambda Chi Alpha experience attributed to success in your field or in other accomplishments?

Lambda Chi Alpha gave me the passion to serve and chase my dreams while, at the same time, fostering a confidence to lead. While the world around me continues to change, I have values and a ritual to cling onto. I have brothers that I know will continue to have my back and alumni connections with men all around the world, professionally and personally. Lambda Chi Alpha taught me the lessons that the college classroom was not able to. The brotherhood simply expounded further upon the training to become a successful and motivated professional.

One of the most valuable aspects of the fraternity for me was the opportunity to interact with and lead my peers – people from different backgrounds and with different perspectives. The continual support to strive for new ideas, regardless of whether the dreams succeed or fail, has pushed me to remain persistent in accomplishing new goals. Lambda Chi Alpha and the Iota-Theta chapter taught me how to believe in myself while still being able to perform critical self-evaluation. I learned that by prioritizing the ideals and lessons learned throughout my experiences in the fraternity, everything else begins to fall into place.

What do you hope to accomplish in your next 30 years, professionally, personally or fraternally?

Professionally, I hope to be improving public and global health in some capacity. Whether I am in a community pharmacy or clinic, researching or teaching medicine, I will be happy. Some of my most defining moments have been the result of excellent instructors and innovative research mentors. I am fascinated by the fact that medicine is always changing and there are always new things to learn. I hope to surround myself with intelligent people in every setting I am exposed to and to broaden my scope of knowledge each day, while at the same time, improving patient care and changing people’s lives.

Personally, I hope to have a family and be happy with whatever job I have. I hope that along with the wisdom that comes with aging, I will be able to better understand what it looks like to live out the values and ideals of Lambda Chi every day. As a college senior I had the opportunity to study abroad, and it really sparked a desire in me to travel the world. I hope to live each day to the fullest and cherish friendships and family always.

Fraternally, I hope to remain an active resource to the Iota-Theta chapter and to the Lambda Chi International Headquarters. I plan to remain close friends with the many brothers that were active during my time at Arkansas State and become a mentor to the brothers that join the fraternity in the coming years. I want to give back to the fraternity that continues to provide me with opportunities. I hope I can continue to live up to the ideals and oaths of Lambda Chi Alpha and replace myself.

Earl Morris
