Lambda Chi Alpha Welcomes New ELCs and Introduces New Position

All employees at Lambda Chi Alpha International Headquarters are excited to welcome four bright and talented young men to our staff! Three will serve as ELCs, while the fourth will serve in a new position, labeled as Recruitment Specialist. Each new staff member will start on June 1.

ELCs

Chris Sweeney (Indiana State University)

Sweeney comes from Evansville Indiana, graduating from Indiana State University in May of 2017.  He has been heavily involved in Lambda Chi Alpha and his scholarship organization, 21st Century. During his undergraduate experience, Sweeney has held the positions of President and Treasurer with 21st Century. In Lambda Chi Alpha, he served as treasurer, executive board, intramural chair, house manager and was voted by fellow brothers to attend the Stead Leadership Conference in 2015.  Sweeney is a  huge Patriots fan and loves watching all sports in his free time, along with playing sports.

Jonathan Gottwald (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute)

Jonathan is originally from Amherst, New Hampshire and currently attends Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He will graduate with a degree in chemistry and hopes to teach one day at the collegiate level. Jonathan enjoys music and has been part of the Rensselyrics a cappella group during his time at RPI. Jonathan joined Epsilon-Eta in the fall of 2013 and has since had the pleasure of serving as the High Phi, High Kappa and Inner Circle Steward. He currently serves on the Student Advisory Committee (SAC) and has loved getting to work more closely with the Grand High Zeta. Last summer, Jonathan had the opportunity to be a part of the International Ritual Team and loved his time in Miami at General Assembly. Jonathan is most excited about getting to travel the country as a consultant and meeting other brothers from different walks of life. Getting to see what Lambda Chi Alpha looks like at the general fraternity level excites him more than anything.

Nathan Schultz (Edinboro University)

Schultz will be graduating from Edinboro University in May of 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Concentration in Personal Financial Planning.  He grew up in the middle of the Allegheny National Forest in Warren, Pennsylvania and enjoys hiking, boating, baseball, and soccer. During Schultz’s time as an undergraduate, he served as High Tau, High Phi, and High Alpha, as well as leading the initiative for being the big brother chapter for the University at Buffalo. Outside of the fraternity, he was the supervisor for all intramural sports on campus and treasurer for Interfraternity Council.

Lambda Chi Alpha International Headquarters is also excited to announce the creation of the Recruitment Specialist Position. Recruitment Specialists will be responsible for overseeing Lambda Chi Alpha’s expansion projects, colony support, and assisting our established chapters with recruitment needs. We are pleased to have three current staff members and one new hire joining the expansion team in this role.

Brett joined Lambda Chi Alpha in the Spring of 2014 during its recolonization. Not seeing himself as the fraternity type, he hoped that becoming a Founding Father would give him the opportunity to change the negative stereotype associated with fraternities and be a part of an organization that truly lives by its values. In pursuit of this vision, Brett served as the Internal Vice President, President, and Fraternity Educator. Brett hopes that serving on staff with Lambda Chi Alpha will give him the opportunity to continue pursuing his vision on a greater scale. Brett has also been involved at Missouri State as a student orientation leader, facilitator for the Emerging Leaders program, and a student leader in the campus ministry, CRU. In his free time, he enjoys playing disc golf, roller hockey, and cheering on the St. Louis Blues.

Welcome to all new staff members!
