University of Missouri

mizzou-logoThe chapter at the University of Missouri is seeking an Alumni Advisory Board (AAB) to help support their operations. Having an AAB in all our chapters is an operating standard, the University of Missouri is also making alumni involvement a standard for all of their Greek-lettered organizations due to a few recent incidents which the institution believes could have been prevented had there been greater alumni oversight. Currently, the chapter is meeting only 7 of the 11 Chapter Operating Standards. This process is aimed at developing a stronger sense of operations and an opportunity to provide greater resources from the International Headquarters and campus. The AAB’s role will be to pair each officer position with an alumnus to work toward completion of the Operating Standards and to support the overall growth of the chapter. For this particular AAB, we are seeking alumni Brothers who are close in proximity to the campus and can be available to attend meetings, mentor officers and be present for our young Brothers.

What Does The AAB Do?

The Alumni Advisory Board’s (AAB’s) primary mission is to advise and guide the leadership in the week-to-week operations of a chapter and mentor our members to ensure their future success.

  • AAB members are asked to make a two-year commitment, during which time each member will be asked to attend meetings each semester, meet with officers, interact in a face-to-face capacity and hold regular phone calls with the officer(s) they advise.
  • Regardless of initiated Zeta, alumni play a crucial role in the development and longevity of our chapters and especially our colonies. In order to be successful, it is critical to have alumni actively involved to advise the officers and personify our motto of “A Lifetime of True Brotherhood.”
