Summer is right around the corner, and while many students are more than eager to check out from their responsibilities at school and relax, one brother is making preparations for the trip to remember.

Nicholas Pham of the University at Buffalo has made plans to bike solo across America, beginning June 3.  The native from Binghamton, New York will start his trek  “by dipping my rear wheel into the Atlantic Ocean in Boston, and end by dipping my front wheel in the Pacific Ocean on the beaches of San Diego.”

Throughout his journey, Pham will travel through 13 states and will stay at Lambda Chi Alpha chapter houses at each of his stops.

While Pham is an avid biker and has dreamed about a cross-country trip for some time now, the trip is much bigger than his need for adventure.  For each mile, Pham hopes to raise one meal (38,000 meals in total) for his local food bank, The Food Bank of Western New York.

Pham encourages brothers to come join him on any part of the trip they would like and looks forward to meeting brothers from across the country.

“I would love to have members of the fraternity join me on parts of my journey, and I would love to meet up with as many people along the way as I can,” said Pham.

Pham is still collecting donations for his local food bank and appreciates each donation.
