Event Planning Forms – Tips & Tricks #4

  1. Description of the Event
    1. “The description of the event is one of the most underutilized sections of the Event Planning Form. When an IHQ staff member reads this section they are looking to get the best detailed response for what events, themes, and reasoning is behind this event.”
    2. Examples:
      1. Bad Description: Watermelon Bash
        1. The brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha will be hosting Watermelon Bash. We will have several activities throughout the day/week and will be raising money for Feeding America.
      2. Good Description: Watermelon Bash
        1. The brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha will be hosting Watermelon Bash. We will have several activities throughout the week. These activities include: a canned food drive where all participating teams will collect donations and be assigned points per can, trivia night where teams will play several rounds of general trivia knowledge, and a watermelon obstacles challenger where the team will have to work together to pass a watermelon through various obstacles. After points are assigned for each event an overall winner will be announced. We will then have a $5 BBQ plate (prepared by campus dinning) event for anyone who is interested. All proceeds and donations will go to Feeding America.
