Grand High Zeta Names Troy Medley Lambda Chi Alpha’s New Chief Executive Officer
Brother Medley will become only the sixth CEO to lead Lambda Chi Alpha in its 110-year history.
Carmel, Ind., June 25, 2019 – The Grand High Zeta of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity has appointed Troy Medley to be the next chief executive officer of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Medley, who will begin July 15, will replace current CEO Bill Farkas, who is retiring after 14 years of leadership and service.
Medley is an alumnus of Missouri State University (‘96) where he joined the Beta-Psi chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha. He also has an MBA from the Graziadio School of Business at Pepperdine University. He is a native of Kansas City, Mo. and currently resides in Coto de Caza, Calif.
“We’re excited by the selection of Troy as our new executive leader,“ stated Grand High Alpha Jeff Stuerman (Culver-Stockton ‘82). “Brother Medley’s professional experience, coupled with his civic leadership and innovative spirit uniquely prepares him to serve our Brotherhood and help our members become the best possible versions of themselves.”
Medley brings a record of success from the business world, both as an entrepreneur, strategic thinker, and a transformative leader. He founded Personal Care Physicians in Irvine, Calif., where he built the largest multi-practice concierge medical group in California. It was also the largest manager of executive health programs in Southern California. He left as CEO in December 2018 following the sale of this company to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. Previously, Medley served as the CEO of Velocity Sports, a franchise retail business where he led a turnaround of an organization focused on increasing athlete’s performance.
Medley and his wife Jamie have three daughters. The oldest is a sophomore at Auburn University. The younger daughters are twins and will be entering high school this fall. The Medleys will be relocating to the Indianapolis area this summer in preparation of Troy’s new responsibilities in leading the staff at the International Headquarters.

His excitement is personal, “The day I walked into the Lambda Chi Alpha Chapter for the first time changed my life forever. The first hand I shook was the High Alpha and one of the most impressive people I had ever met. He soon became my Big Brother. We hit it off right away and the rest of the members I met were genuine and real. As the night went on, I knew I wanted to be a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. The moment I walked through that door was the beginning of a new chapter of my life.”
Medley continued, “The lessons learned and relationships acquired as an undergraduate member provided me the foundation upon which to build a successful life and career. I look forward to working with the Grand High Zeta, our talented staff and community of alumni volunteers to build upon our long history of developing servant leaders. Together we can both honor our past and shape our future by transforming the fraternity experience to match the needs of a new generation of young men and creating ongoing programs for alumni that ensure the benefits of brotherhood continue throughout a lifetime.”
In addition to his business and family life, Medley serves on the board and past chair for Miracles for Kids and is a founding member and board chairman of Epic Charter Schools California. He is an active leader at Laguna Beach Presbyterian Church.

The search process was ably assisted by Mark Wilkison and Wes Wicker of executive search firm Columns Fundraising of Atlanta.
The excitement for Medley’s leadership echoed throughout the Search Committee and Grand High Zeta. His recommendation and appointment were unanimous in both bodies. Between them, 23 Brothers were engaged in the process, from undergraduate members to alumni with more than 50 years of Lifetime Brotherhood, including past service on the board, the IHQ staff, and the Student Advisory Committee. They brought experience from large and small, public and private, geographically diverse campuses.
Stuerman added, “When our collegiate and alumni brothers meet and work with Troy, they will understand why the decision was unanimous. He embodies Lambda Chi’s values and brings out the best in people.”
Retiring CEO Bill Farkas (Butler ‘88) responded, “We can all have great confidence in the Brothers on the Search Committee and Grand High Zeta for selecting Troy Medley for this role. I look forward to working with Troy and our terrific staff on a smooth and successful transition.”
