Women of LCA: OOA Team Highlight

SHARE TO

To continue our celebration of Women’s History Month, meet all of the incredible women on the OOA team! We are incredibly lucky to have so many dedicated professionals working to promote the mission of Lambda Chi.

Jessica Ashton, Director of Health & Wellness

Lambda Chi Alpha has shown that when men challenge the status quo and learn from their mistakes, they can truly change the world. Some of the best men I know are Lambda Chi Alpha members, and I have the privilege of watching so many stand up for what’s right everyday. From advisors to health & wellness volunteers to collegiate men, I’m consistently in awe of the meaning men make out of this Fraternity and the ways in which they live their ritual. Working at Lambda Chi Alpha has made me a better person.

Tiffany Beer, Event Manager

One of the things I love about being an event planner is that I have benefited from working in different environments and industries, and I’ve learned a lot from all of those experiences. Being at Lambda Chi has been especially interesting because fraternal organizations are new to me, and I enjoy the fact that our team is helping prepare young men for the rest of their lives.

I have been impressed to see the goals and the efforts to achieve them by the leadership of the Fraternity, and the Office of Administration team works hard to help provide undergraduate students with valuable resources I wish I’d had access to in college. The opportunities to improve yourself personally and professionally, in addition to learning how to lead and work well with others, will definitely be advantages in the workforce and future relationships.

Although I do not have a history in Greek Life, as a mom of two young boys (ages 10 and 8), I now will absolutely encourage my sons to research and consider a fraternity when they approach their college years.

Sarah Bernard, Graphic Designer

I have really enjoyed working with the Lambda Chi Alpha marketing team so far on the quarterly Cross & Crescent magazine. The team has been welcoming and a breeze to communicate with and have truly made me feel like a valued asset to the team!

Oliva Fitchett, Chapter Support Coach

Rethinking Fraternity is something I get to encounter every single day. It’s brave, bold, cutting edge, and inspiring. I’m thrilled be a part of what we are doing. When I joined staff at Lambda Chi, I anticipated working with fantastic men and women. Being a woman and part of another Greek organization, it would be natural to feel a little on the outside at first. The very first day, I was welcomed with (virtual!!) open arms and have felt essential, valued, and supported by every Lambda Chi member I have encountered. I am so blessed to be part of a community like Lambda Chi and am truly impressed by the men I encounter every day.

Alyssa Gilles, Director of Learning Outcomes

When I began working for Lambda Chi Alpha, I thought I would be in and out in two years or less. Over my five and a half years working for the Fraternity, I have learned that this is more than a job. It’s a second home. The work I have had the opportunity to do with our members has taught me how to be better person, a better partner, and a better mother. Lambda Chi Alpha is investing in its members, its team, and the community in ways I never would have imagined. I am humbled and thrilled to be immersed in the work we are called to do.

Sara Perry, Health & Wellness Coach

I get to work with incredible men every single day. The undergraduate men are brilliant, committed, caring and are embracing Brotherhood in this challenging time. I am thankful for the opportunity to help them through their experience and provide whatever support I can to ensure this is the life-changing experience it should be. I see the power of Lambda Chi not only in the undergraduate men, but also with the alumni and my fellow staff members. I have learned about loyalty and duty as alumni commit their time and energy to giving back. My fellow staff members live the values day in and day out, which is powerful to be surrounded by.

As a female staff member, I will never know ritual or the teachings of ritual. What I have learned in my time, is that I personally don’t need to know ritual in order to know that Lambda Chi produces exceptional men. That the men I work with and work alongside live the ritual in their everyday life. Lambda Chi Alpha makes men better, and I am so thankful to be able to be part of that experience.

Shauna Prentice, Senior Curriculum Coordinator

Since joining the team this month, I’ve been so inspired by the work that everyone at Lambda Chi is doing to provide our members with the experience and resources they deserve to succeed as men. I’m excited to be a part of that work!

Lauren Stills, Expansion Development Specialist

Because of the pandemic, I applied for a job that I would typically not apply for and I am so happy that I did. I earned my degree in Higher Education because I believed in the fraternity and sorority life experience and wanted to help those students have a positive experience that impacted them after graduation. When I interviewed for Lambda Chi, I immediately knew it would be a good fit.

The passion every team member has for creating the best fraternity experience while providing those opportunities for the men to be prepared after graduation was something that was appealing to me. I was welcomed with open arms and felt that I could be myself as a professional and am truly doing work that is going to make an impact years down the road. The love that every Lambda Chi member I meet has for this organization has only made me fall more in love with the fraternity experience and wanting every college man to be a part of it.

Ann Sobierajski, Development Coordinator, Educational Foundation

Working for the Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation has had a tremendous impact on me as well as my philanthropic mindset. I have the immense pleasure of seeing firsthand how the generosity of our donors directly impacts our Lambda Chi undergrads through the funding of educational and innovative programming. Not only have I personally donated to Lambda Chi Alpha, I have also set up recurring gifts with three organizations that are near and dear to my heart, including my own Greek affiliation. It continues to be incredibly rewarding to see the impact of the grants, programs and scholarships that are awarded through the various organizations.

Taylor Weitzer, Senior Content Coordinator

I always tell people when they ask what I do, that I work for one of the greatest organizations out there. I have had the privilege of telling some of the most interesting stories from around the Fraternity and had the opportunity to meet members from all walks of life. To me, every story I hear is an inspiration and a reminder of the values that our members live every day.

I am truly inspired by these men and love that I have the chance each and every day to make an impact by sharing the passion of Lambda Chi Brothers far and wide.
