Chapter News: April

The following are the submissions received for the April 2016.

If you can not find news from your chapter, then no information has been submitted for this month.

Arizona State (Zeta-Psi )

Lambda Chi Alpha at Arizona State University has raised roughly 105,000 pounds of food for Feeding America during the annual Watermelon Bust. Brother Braden Liu successfully organized and orchestrated a great event after being appointed to be the Watermelon Bust Chair as a freshman. Brother Andrew Hickey finishes his final semester as an undergrad, as he patiently awaits to attend Stanford Graduate School in the fall for engineering. Brother John Lauro was elected Vice President of Services in the Undergraduate Student Government of Arizona State University. Brother Dayton Potter was elected Senator to represent the W.P. Carey Business School in the Undergraduate Student Government at Arizona State University.

Akron (Gamma-Alpha)

We had our annual Bathtub Pull on April 30. During this event we were able to raise over $2500 for Feeding America. We completed the pull down Market Street in Akron with a big thanks to Delta Gamma for supporting us on the walk and helping us raise money!

BaldwinWallace2BaldwinWallace1Baldwin Wallace (Kappa-Phi)

On April 2, we initiated James Philbrick and Yonatan Reuven. The next weekend, our brothers participated in April Reign, BW’s annual competition between student organizations, and won 3rd place in the obstacle race part of the event. Our brothers Kyle Shockey, Justin Malave, and Jeffrey Bregar were initiated into the honor society Gamma Sigma Alpha. Mauren Schindler represented our chapter in Sigma Phi Epsilon’s Queen of Hearts competition on April 13. We volunteered at the People’s Community Church on April 16 with members of Greek Council. Our brothers won MNM’s Costume Volleyball Tournament on April 21 and dressed up as the pillars of Greek life. On April 22, we held our glow in the dark sports philanthropy event, raising $141.75 for Feeding America. Finally, we had our Great Gatsby themed crush party on April 23.

BucknellBucknell (Delta)

The chapter held its inaugural food drive outside of Weis Markets, collecting 250 pounds of food for the Eastern Union County Food Bank. Chapter members assisted the university’s Late Night @ Klark in their annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament.

 

 

ButlerButler (Alpha-Alpha)

The chapter held its annual Teeter-Totter Marathon that raised more than $14,000 for Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. The chapter won first place in Spring Sports, a multisport competition between other Greek organizations. At the Greek Excellence Awards, the chapter won the Best New Member Education Program Award and was also recognized for scholarship, chapter education, philanthropy and service, and sustainability.

 

California Polytechnic (Phi-Sigma)

Phi-Sigma Zeta brothers have been hard at work this school year; High Sigma Kyle Boland has been meeting with his committee and have been discussing new ways to improve the house’s overall GPA. Renovations are being made to the house’s library; new tables have been created for the Sigma Library so brothers can have a quiet place to study. Academic mentors are put in place for brothers which they can use for help in classes and advice in their major. High Theta Matthew Kloss and his committee have been hard at work planning our spring philanthropy event. The philanthropy is called Lambda Cabana, and is a volleyball tournament, which raises money for the American Breast Cancer Foundation. High Beta Jack McKeon planned a small brotherhood event to appear on the show “The Price Is Right.” Eighteen of our brothers went down to L.A. and were in the audience. Brother Carl Wilke was fortunate enough to be selected as a participant on the show. The show will air on May 20.

CincinnattiCincinnati (Gamma-Gamma)

The men of Lambda Chi Alpha Gamma-Gamma Zeta helped raise 3650 lbs of food for our local Foodbank, FreeStore Foodbank, with our 2nd annual Teeter Totter-Thon!

 

 

 

Coastal Carolina (Coastal Carolina Colony)

In April, the colony held an Initiation Ritual Exemplification for six associate members.

Dan Hyman planned and organized the colony’s formal held at the Grumpy Monk. Steven Manz led the colony’s work on the 4th annual Shawn Ponton Memorial Car Show that took place on April 17, 2016.

 

Cornell (Omicron)

More than 30 undergraduates and 10 alumni members convened in the new Ashley Reading Room at Edgemoor in early April for a “Seeking Help” seminar on mental wellness sponsored by the Matthew Omans Memorial Committee. Alumni member Alex “Baba” Aidun (2008) organized the seminar and led the discussion by relating the history of a brother Matt Omans (2010) and his struggle with bipolarity and death in March 2012. The alumni Capital Campaign to increase funding for Edgemoor’s continued renovation has reached $370,000 in extended pledges or 67 percent of the Phase II funding goal.

 

Denison (Gamma-Iota)

John Faraci, former CEO of International Paper and alumni brother, spoke to the chapter.

 

Denver (Alpha-Pi)

Tom Harold is director of contracts for veteran engineering and technology for Veteran Information Technologies, where he also was promoted to vice president and senior program manager. Ted Souder joined the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition Advisory Committee and was named to Gov. Bruce Rauner’s Illinois Innovation Council in 2015. Greg Luttrell is director of insurance at TeleTech. Criswell Fiordalis is manager of strategic planning and analysis at Media Rights Capital Studios in Los Angeles.

 

DrexelDrexel (Epsilon-Kappa)

The chapter held 75th anniversary celebration. Chapter members participated in St. Baldrick’s Foundation raising $250 for cancer research.

 

 

 

EasternIllinoisEastern Illinois (Phi-Alpha)

Members of the Phi-Alpha chapter volunteered at the Ashmore mentoring program. They taught the children the importance of being active outside in order to stay healthy. They played games such as kickball, sharks and minos, and dodgeball. The kids and community couldn’t be more excited to meet the fraternity members.

 
 
 

EastKentucky2EastKentucky1Eastern Kentucky (Phi-Beta)

This month we initiated four new brothers (Trey Adkins, Michael Reid, Brady Smith, Sebastian Torres). Our chapter, along with Alpha Gamma Delta and Theta Chi, were the winners of “Greek Week.” We hosted, along with Alpha Omicron Pi, an event called “Cut-A-Thon,” where $10 haircuts were given to benefit our respective philanthropies. Brother Blake Jones graduated from basic training. Our brothers competed in Kappa Alpha Theta’s Sink or Swim event. Brothers Isaac Walters, Jarrett Stevenson, Seth Gyr, and Sebastian Torres attended Bluegrass Conclave hosted at Western Kentucky University. Our brothers won Alpha Omicron Pi’s “Rose Bowl” philanthropy competition. Brother Dominique Norris participated in EKU’s production of “The Little Prince.” We hosted a cornhole tournament benefiting Feeding America. This month, we lost brother Robert (Nick) Rucker. He was a great man and will truly be missed. 

ElonElon (Delta-Pi)

The chapter hosted its annual Chops and Pops weekend, with dozens of Lambda Chi dads in attendance. Events included skeet shooting, a barbecue, and a golf tournament. Four chapter brothers won Zeta Tau Alpha’s Crown Classic Golf Tournament benefitting  women’s breast cancer research. Embry-Riddle (Sigma-Phi)

During Greek Week, the chapter raised more than 5,000 pounds of food for local food banks.

EmbryPrescottEmbry-Riddle Prescott (Pi-Xi)

We were chartered on April 16. It was an amazing night that was filled with a lot of good food and even better brothers. We also found out that we were the first Greek chapter at Embry-Riddle in Prescott to win Chapter of the Year. That night we also found out we received the honor of being granted the Krapek Values Grant. We worked really hard the past two years to become chartered and worked really hard this year to show that we deserve to be a chapter. We want to thank everyone who helped us get to this point and cannot wait to build on this.

EurekaEureka (Theta-Chi)

On March 19, LifeLine Pilots celebrated its 35th year of facilitating free air transportation to patients and their families who are experiencing financial hardship and have medical needs at distant medical facilities which they otherwise could not afford to get to, but can’t afford not to. The event raised $78,000 of direct donations. This was the biggest event that Life Line pilots has ever had, and doubled their donations from the last fundraiser a year ago.

Ferris StateFerris State (Iota-Psi)

Paired with Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, the chapter won Greek Week.

 

 

 

Florida (Epsilon-Mu)

Seven brothers graduated from the undergraduate level at The University of Florida over the past three days. Their names are as follows: Gio De la Torre, Michael Moore, Brandon Schlakman, Brett Petrovich, Connor Bilby, Chris Casey and Connor Myhre. Multiple brothers will continue their studies on the graduate level ranging from medicine, engineering and law.

Florida SouthernFlorida Southern (Epsilon-Xi)

Paired with Alpha Delta Pi sorority, the chapter won Greek Week. For the past month, chapter members have completed more than 250 volunteer hours doing community service work.

 

 

Florida Tech (Beta-Nu)

The Beta-Nu Zeta had their Movie Trivia Night and collected 166 lb of food. This was donated to the Brevard Sharing Center. We keep sending people to all the philanthropy events of other fraternities and sororities to show that we are present on campus. With the summer coming up, we also want to start early with collecting ideas for Watermelon Bust, which is planned for next fall. We want to try to make it bigger then the last year by advertising this event as soon as possible and letting people know ahead of time.

GeorgetownGeorgetown (Kappa-Omega)

The chapter hosted Green, Eggs, and Lamb, a silent auction dinner that raised more than $3,000 for charity. At the Greek Ceremony, the chapter won the President’s Cup for the 14th year in a row. They also won awards for Fraternity Man of the Year, Athlete of the Year, Best Recruitment, Best Academics, The Scholarship Award, and Best Alumni Relations.

 

 

Illinois (Chi)

The chapter is still involved with PetNet by volunteering to foster dogs, and even raising some money for the organization. In other news, the chapter is also preparing for the construction of our new chapter house. While the members are sad that we will no longer have our historic chapter house, we are very excited to take the next steps in making our new house a reality. For the rest of the semester, the members will be preparing for their finals and enjoying the time left in the house.

IowaIowa (Iota-Chi)

Partnered with Delta Upsilon and Alpha Phi, the chapter won the Greek Week competition. At their conclave event, the chapter received an award for highest number of associate members recruited and retained throughout the last semester. Alec Giannakopoulos received the brotherhood award from the Interfraternal Council. The chapter held its annual Teeter-Totter-A-Thon event and raised more than $10,000 for the American Brain Tumor Association.

 

John Carroll (Pi-Eta)

The John Carroll men participated in the annual Greek Week competition. They took first and second throughout the week, including winning gym games, and they took third in the annual LipSync competition.

Kettering – A (Lambda-Epsilon A)

The chapter held an Initiation Ritual Exemplification for five associate members. The chapter won intramural water polo for the third consecutive year.

 

Kettering BKettering – B (Lambda-Epsilon B)

On April 23, 2016, chapter brothers held a roadside cleanup on Saturday. They cleaned a two-mile stretch outside of Flint, Michigan.

 

 

 

KutztownKutztown (Sigma-Gamma)

We have initiated five men last Saturday. This brings our chapter to an even 600 members initiated at our Sigma Gamma Zeta Chapter, from Kutztown University. Our seniors are ready for graduation next week. We will be holding our graduation and alumni open ceremony. We wish all our graduating seniors nothing but the best in the future! All our new officers have been transitioned and are ready to work for this up coming school year.

Alumni News

The alumni brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity recently held their 11th annual Alumni Golf Tournament to raise funds for the Robert McMullen Memorial Scholarship for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Named after former High Pi Bob McMullen, this scholarship provides an annual scholarship grant to an undergraduate Lambda Chi Alpha member who best exemplifies the ideals of the fraternity.  Fifty-four golfers participated in this year’s tournament.  The scholarship is endowed through the Kutztown University Foundation, and all profit goes towards the endowment.

Louisiana-LaFayetteLouisiana – Lafayette (Iota-Omega)

Our brother Jack Laborde at the Iota-Omega Zeta and the lacrosse team at the University of Louisiana have won the programs first ever conference championship. The Ragin’ Cajuns faced off against UT-Dallas and won by a final score of 11-8. The Cajuns victory marks the first time a Louisiana team has won the LSA D2 conference title. We would like to give a huge shout out and congratulations to Jack and the entire UL lacrosse team.

Marietta (Kappa-Alpha)

In the month of April the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha at Marietta College had great times and bitter sweet times. This month, Lambda Chi Alpha hosted its annual Hog Roast to raise money for philanthropy, as well as ran a donation table for money and canned goods at a special dinner the week before our finals for our philanthropy as well. Along with an ELC visit, we also initiated four new brothers into our lifetime of brotherhood. As for a more bitter sweet news post, we also had to bid farewell to our four seniors who are graduating and entering the real world. We hope that our brothers will work hard in their pursuit of professionalism.

MemphisMemphis2Memphis (Zeta-Theta)

This year at the University of Memphis’ Fraternity/Sorority Awards, Zeta-Theta chapter received three awards from Greek affairs: 2016 Pillar of Excellence Award for Values Integration, and 2016 Pillar of Excellence Award for Civic Engagement. Lastly, Our High Alpha Christopher Wooten received an award named Pistos Tigreis; meaning “Faithful Tiger” which is given to fraternity men and women in recognition and appreciation of their outstanding service and dedication to the University of Memphis’ Fraternity/Sorority Community. We partnered with the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha to perform/mimic NPHC sorority/fraternity strolls and dances. Overall we came in second place in the competition overall. Also AKA was able to raise an outstanding amount of donations in school supplies for local schools. Zeta-Theta participated in the Gerold Blum 5K, benefitting American Heart Association. This event is in memory of our brother Gerold Blum who passed away in December 2013.

Minnesota StateMinnesota State (Lambda-Delta)

This month, we successfully initiated three new members into our brotherhood. Fove of our brothers attended Conclave at Iowa State. We held our first Lambda Chi Cookout, which we raise a total of $1,005 which will all be donated to Feeding America.

 
 
 
Missouri S_TMissouri Science and Technology (Alpha-Delta)

The chapter held an Initiation Ritual Exemplification for two associate members: Nathan Story and Brendan McGrellis. The chapter held its annual scholastic Apple Polishers Dinner with alumni and university representatives in attendance. The chapter has five new members signed for next semester. Alumni members are starting preparations for the additions/renovations for the new house to be completed by fall 2017. MurrayState1MurrayState2Murray State (Lambda-Eta)

Our chapter has been taking a leading roll on campus this semester by getting involved in many different organizations. A few of these organizations are student ambassadors, Great Beginnings leaders, summer orientation, IFC, and many other organizations. By getting heavily involved with the campus we have been able to increase our influence on the campus. These organizations have also helped us improve our reputation at Murray State. Our chapter has also taken part in many other Greek organizations philanthropy events. Our chapter even won the Sigma Sigma Sigma glow run. Lambda-Eta will also be taking the pledge to raise money for Relay for Life in the next few weeks. We will be looking to raise over $800 by hosting car washes and having our annual cabbob fundraiser. The final event will be at Really for Life which will take place on Murray States football track. The brothers of Lambda-Eta will continue to stay dedicated to the campus and community.

 

New Mexico StateNew Mexico State (Zeta-Gamma)

On April 9, 2016, chapter members participated in The Big Event, a citywide spring community service project. The chapter hosted its first spring philanthropy event called Wild West and raised more than 500 pounds of food and $300 dollars for a local food bank.

 

 

North DakotaNorth Dakota (Epsilon-Zeta)

We held our annual parents formal where we honored many brothers accomplishments over the past year. As well, our chapter initiated 10 new members into our bond, and we are excited to see what they will do for our chapter in the years to come. In addition, our chapter won our first ever Greek Week at the University of North Dakota. During this week our brothers took part in several different Greek related activities around campus, one which involved us volunteering at Culvers to help support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. On the alumni side, there was a small get together in St. Paul, Minnesota for the 2016 NCHC hockey tournament.

Northeastern StateNortheastern State (Delta-Beta)

At the Green and White Weekend, Jacob Jones (2016) was as one of the Outstanding Seniors before ultimately being honored as 2016’s Senior of Distinction. He also was inducted into the university’s Hall of Fame. During Greek Awards, the chapter won the most awards out of any Greek organization and was the only fraternity to win a chapter award. The chapter was honored for Excellence in Greek Unity, Excellence in Scholarship, and the 5 Columns Award, which is the highest honor a chapter can receive. Individual chapter members also won awards: Bryce McIntosh won Excellence in Community Engagement; Ryan Christie won the Scholastic Excellence Award; Jacob Jones, Bryce Lubbers, and Hoang Do were named as Top 5 Greek Males; Jacob Jones was named Outstanding Greek Male.

OklahomaCityOklahoma City (Theta-Delta)

The month of April has been very exciting for the Theta Delta chapter. We started out the month by participating in our campus’s Relay for Life, raising just over $500 for cancer research as a chapter. Then we had an alumni event where we invited all of the alumni back to celebrate the Theta-Delta chapter buying the house by burning the mortgage to the chapter house. We also had a guest speaker come in to talk to us about drug and alcohol abuse, as well as one talk to us about preventing hazing and the university’s policy on hazing. Then we held a can food drive on campus where we raised around 300 lbs of food bringing our total pounds of food raised to 2,034 which is the most pounds of food the Theta-Delta chapter has ever donated to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Following that several brothers went with other volunteers from the OCU Greek community to volunteer at the same food bank one Saturday morning packaging meals. To end the month of April we had our spring initiation.

Oklahoma State (Alpha-Eta)

The Alpha-Eta chapter this semester raised over $1000 dollars for the National Breast Cancer Coalition during its 39th annual White Rose Pageant. The winner was Chi Omega’s representative Summer Stevens. The brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha also participated in a campus-wide community event, The Big Event. We paired with the women of Alpha Chi Omega and had jobs throughout the community that involved cleaning, raking leaves, and many other volunteer events. The Alpha-Eta chapter also had a group attend Oklahoma State’s Relay for Life. We walked laps around, talked to some cancer survivors, and participated in fundraising events. Individual members also volunteered at the local food bank, animal shelter, and the YMCA.

Pittsburg StatePittsburg State (Lambda-Chi)

The chapter created a philanthropy, Water Balloon Blitz, that paired fraternities on campus in a competition. The chapter participated in Mac and Cheese Feed philanthropy event. At the Greek Awards, the chapter won Greek Man of the Year and Fraternity of the Year Award for the third

year in a row.

 

Purdue (Psi)

The chapter remains motivated to improve its image by beating out the average amount of service hours in the Greek system here at Purdue. While this has been a relatively quiet month for a chapter on limited operations, morale remains high. I’d also like to congratulate graduating senior Stephen Blanford on his accepting his job offer working for Texas Instruments.

Richmond (Alpha-Chi)

On April 14, 2016, the chapter held its second annual trivia night to raise money for A Kids’ Brain Tumor Cure Foundation (PLGA Foundation). At the end of the event, $1,600 was raised in honor of a local alumnus’ son who suffers from a rare form of pediatric brain cancer.

 

Rhode Island (Eta)

On April 9, 2016, the chapter hosted its 5th Annual Jared Bergman Memorial Softball Tournament in memory of Jared Bergman, a brother who died unexpectedly in 2010. All proceeds from the tournament went to the Jared Bergman Memorial Scholarship.

 

RollinsRollins (Theta-Gamma)

The chapter hosted a Watermelon Bust philanthropy event that raised more than 600 pounds of food for a local food bank.

 

 

 

Rose-Hulman (Theta-Kappa)

The brothers of TKZ started their last quarter of school celebrating Spring. This event was held the Thursday after coming off of break, and consisted of food and games in the good company of brothers and other members of the Rose campus. Next, the brothers of TKZ began our food drive. Going out to the local community, brothers left bags at the doors of residents, asking for donations to support Feeding America. Bins were also given to the residence halls, to get the student body involved. The drive concludes this Sunday, where the brothers will collect all the donations and take them to the local food bank. This month we honored Chase Salyers, our Greek of the Year. The current High Alpha, Salvers has worked hard to maintain the chapter and keep us going in the right direction. To finish off the month, the chapter has a double header. With a “Living our Values” retreat followed by a social.

St. Louis College of Pharmacy (Pi-Lambda)

The Pi-Lambda Zeta raised over $1000 on our annual Watermelon Bash on campus this year. We split the proceeds to Love Your Melon (an on campus organization) and Feeding America.

Shippensburg (Phi-Tau Colony)

Shippensburg’s Phi-Tau Colony recieved their approval for chartering.

South Carolina (Epsilon-Psi)

Epsilon-Psi Zeta at the University of South Carolina is currently in the midst of fundraising for Watermelon Bash which will take place during September. At the moment $2,190 has been raised for Feeding America and our local partner Harvest Hope Food Bank. As the school year winds down we look to meet and exceed our goal of $3,000 before the beginning of our event. This year Epsilon-Psi looks to take more of a personal approach as we look to help the families that were affected by the flood that hit our city last fall, devastating much of Columbia and other surrounding areas.

SouthDakotaSouth Dakota (Alpha-Gamma)

Over the last hundred years Alpha Gamma Zeta has produced the highest caliber of gentlemen. Alpha-Gamma Zeta has produced teachers, doctors, lawyers, governors, university presidents, and above all else they produced lifetime brothers. These mean are boned together by Ritual. They support each other from college onward. They are some of the greatest alumni that could ever be asked for. The active brothers of Alpha-Gamma Zeta, pictured, are extremely proud of the fraternal organization that they are a part of. They are elated to be in a brotherhood that is so strong not only at a local level, but nationally. They are thankful for the opportunities that have been presented to them, and even more so they are thankful to have a strong support system that Lambda Chi Alpha has fostered. South Dakota Mines (Pi-Mu)

The chapter held an Initiation Ritual Exemplification for seven associate members. The chapter also held a brotherhood camping retreat and members volunteered at the 21st Annual YFS Kids Fair.

Southern Indiana (Phi-Xi)

This month, we had our Teeter Totter philanthropy for the Special Olympics of Vanderburgh County from April 15-17. We also have several graduating members for this semester to acknowledge. Patrick Hansen, Terrance Lewis, Alex Martens, Aaron Copeland, Chad McKinley, Kurt Steiner, Ryan Stenftenagel, Jack Cawley, and Caleb Campbell are all becoming alumni from the chapter at the University of Southern Indiana after the end of this semester.

StetsonStetson (Stetson Colony)

On April 2, 2016, colony members participated in Relay for Life, an event that raised more than $3,800 for the American Cancer Society. They also won the Most Team Spirit Award.
 
 
 

TexasTeach1TexasTech2Texas Tech (Sigma-Nu)

The brothers of Sigma-Nu Zeta have spent 111 community service hours in the month of April at Lubbock’s own, South Plains Food Bank Farm. The brothers were granted the task of repainting a treasured chicken coup and planting various vegetable seeds to be grown. The crops planted will be harvested and used in the local fight for hunger in the West Texas Community.

 
 

Valparaiso (Iota-Sigma)

Chapter had a small semi formal with the chapter, Phi Delta Theta, where we celebrated the school year almost ending. We also had multiple brothers participate in Valpo’s annual dance marathon to raise money for children’s’ hospitals near Valpo. Brothers also went to the VisBox gaming program, where they were allowed to try on headsets which brought them to virtual 3D games and settings. Many seniors and underclassmen went to the Congress Hotel, downtown in Chicago where they celebrated the seniors last formal. This week brothers also attended many Greek Week activities from bingo to creating a full song and dance routine, while performing it at Valpo’s annual Songfest. Lastly, at Greek Life awards, brother Leandro Jaime, Logan Mulvihill, Eric Kurbyun, and Taylor Krivas all won special awards for their commitment to the fraternity and what they have done for Greek Life. As the chapter also won excellence in academic programming and the pillar of excellence.

VillanovaVillanova (Beta-Iota)

We started by having our biannual meeting with Father Peter to discuss leadership and the future of Villanova University. It was very enlightening. Besides winning the national championship, we also won awards from Villanova for best leadership development, risk management, and most improved chapter. On top of that we received awards from International Headquarters for our GPA. However, this didn’t stop us from organizing game watches for the NCAA tournament and initiating seven new brothers. We are very excited for what the future has in store for the Beta-Iota chapter.

 

WabashWabash (Alpha-Kappa)

Chapter members volunteered at the Animal Welfare League to walk dogs, play with cats, and talk to the staff about the needs of animal care in Montgomery County.

 

 

WashingtonLeeWashington & Lee (Gamma-Phi)

This past month the Gamma-Phi chapter of LCA participated in the Relay For Life charity event to raise money for cancer research. The chapter finished third among all W&L fraternities in money raised. Several members have been volunteering at Campus Kitchen, a local food kitchen, and we recently had a brother elected to the leadership staff of that organization. We have also spent time working at Habitat for Humanity. Some brothers spent the morning nailing shingles to the roof of a local house.

Western Carolina (Beta-Zeta)

Recently, we have initiated six new brothers into our chapter, congratulations to Jake, Evan, Patrick, Deric, Nick, and Kyle! As the school year is coming to an end, we are focusing on finishing strong and studying hard for exams. Looking forward to see what next year brings us!

William Jewell (Epsilon-Nu)

On April 22, 2016, the chapter held an Initiation Ritual Exemplification for 14 associate members. Chapter members hosted their annual Teeter-Totter-A-Thon with Delta Zeta sorority on April 13-14, 2016. Joel Steyer was accepted as a doctorate fellow at Kansas State University within the Genetics Interdepartmental program. Thomas Boylan has accepted an internship with Black and Veatch, Inc. Trevor Adams has accepted an internship with Liberty Mutual Insurance. Jonathan Daniel is performing as part of KC VITA’s, a non-profit choir. Jackson Ritchie has been selected to the Kantorei KC Choral Scholars. Ritchie also had a solo in the Jewell Theatre production of “Godspell.”

Wittenberg (Nu-Zeta)

Initiated five new members on 4/2: Kieran Hunter, Christian Meyer, Clayton Marsh, Kieran Mouritsen, and Andrew Pool. Founders Day April 9, held alumni ceremony for graduating brothers: Alex Meyer, and Harrison Wood. Philanthropy event “Can-Struction” was held on April 13. Three Brothers were featured in a Jazz concert on campus on 4/28. Six Brothers are involved with symphonic band and performed on 4/29.
